The Winter Winter Garden Ride of 2023
Impressions and Comments: Warm, then chilly, then windy, then warm, then friendly at the Edge Water Hotel – Rall flats first and last, nice Tampa Riverwalk ride, strawberry fields forever, free elevator ride up the Citrus Tower, Edgewater Hotel breakfasts, old time elevator and stairs, packed Winter Garden restaurants, picque nicque by the trail, head into the wind to get to Lakeland, and Dave & Dick missing turns and Dice Games won by the two bee keepers, how sweet it was.

Impressions and Comments: Late night arrivals, riding to Papa Wheelies for dinner & cheap beer, another light morning rain, Highway 101 lumber trucks, RV’s and narrow bike lanes, redwood trees, Dave’s pedal problem, we’ll move the boxes ourselves, Brookings Inn Resort?, lodging & dinner views of the Pacific at Port Orford, Tiny Tony’s Crab Shack, Paul & Marty eat lunch at the golf course, the tight Coos Bay Bridge, Umpqua River Lighthouse, Oregon Dunes, bike cleaning at the car wash, she’s from Bulgaria, high prices at the Eugene Hampton Inn, John, Jim A., and Mike stay behind to ride the downhill at McKinley Pass.
